The High Sky Wing

On Friday, March 8, about 40 people turned out to honor wounded veterans who were participating in Reel Thanx, an organization that provides wounded veterans an opportunity to relax by joining in a fishing weekend at Lake Amistad.  Unfortunately, due to short notice, the HSW was not well represented.  We hope that for the next event (3-4 times per year) we will have a bigger window to work with and more members can participate.

Please take a few minutes to show up on Friday at Midland Drive @ Tanforan (Mockingbird Heights) in Midland to show your support for wounded soldiers participating in Reel Thanx.  While this is short notice, please participate if you can.  Just show up, in your uniform shirt or jacket if possible, and support these troops, by waving the American flag as they pass by.

Please note that this is not a parade and there has been no permit issued.  The soldiers will be in cars proceeding to Lake Amistad for a fishing trip, and Riders4Fighters just wants to show their appreciation to these fine men and women by cheering them as they pass by.

REMINDER:

The High Sky Wing General Meeting will be held this Thursday, February 21st @ 7:00 p.m. The meeting was changed from it’s original date on the 4th Thursday due to Wing Staff Conference beginning at that time. Bring a covered dish and join us for the meeting. Social time begins at 6:00 p.m., dinner at 7:00 p.m.

Col John Meyer was honored as the Colonel of the Year, but, unfortunately was unable to attend.
